Imigrasi Batam Introduces Weekend Passport Services through the “Lapak Ramadhan” Program

The Batam Class I Special Immigration Office in Riau Islands has launched a new initiative to facilitate passport services during the weekend, called “Lapak Ramadhan.” This service is aimed at helping the community manage passport applications more conveniently during the holy month of Ramadhan.

According to Hajar Aswad, the Head of Batam Immigration, the passport services will be available at the Hall of Pollux Habibie Mall in Batam Center on the weekends of March 15-16 and March 22-23, 2025. The service hours will run from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

“We are offering this service only on Saturdays and Sundays, from March 15 to 16 and March 22 to 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM,” said Hajar.

The service focuses specifically on issuing electronic passports, with a quota of 100 applicants per day. To access this service, applicants are required to register through the M-Paspor application.

This weekend service is a collaboration between the Batam Class I Special Immigration Office, the Class II Belakang Padang Immigration Office, the Class II Tanjung Uban Immigration Office, and the management of Pollux Habibie Mall. In addition to providing easier access to passport services, the initiative also includes the involvement of individuals with disabilities, who are employed as outsourcing staff for the eazy passport program.

“We are also involving and hiring individuals with disabilities as outsourcing staff for the eazy passport activity,” Hajar added.

For those applying for a new adult passport, the required documents include the e-KTP (electronic ID card), family card, and one of the following: birth certificate, diploma, marriage certificate, marriage book, or baptism certificate.

For adults applying for passport renewal or replacement, the only documents required are the e-KTP and the old passport.

For children under the age of 17, whether applying for a new passport or a replacement, the documents to be provided include the e-KTP of both parents, the family card, the child’s birth certificate, the parents’ marriage certificate, and a Rp10,000 stamp duty.

Hajar also reminded applicants to bring both the original and photocopies of their documents, ensuring that the photocopies are not cropped. He emphasized that children applying for a passport must be accompanied by their parents during the application process.

With this service, the Batam Immigration Office hopes to make the process of obtaining passports more accessible and convenient for the people of Batam during Ramadhan.
