Arsjad Rasjid, the Chairperson of Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for 2021-2026, announced that the leadership dispute within the organization has been resolved through “strategic resolutions.” This conflict arose during the 2024 Kadin Extraordinary National Deliberation, where Anindya Bakrie was elected as the new chairperson, a move Rasjid contested due to objections from regional branches regarding the assembly’s legality.
Rasjid emphasized the importance of adhering to Kadin’s Articles of Association and Bylaws, highlighting that the resolution demonstrates their commitment to the organization’s integrity and national economic interests. Although he did not disclose specific details of the agreed-upon resolution, the two parties are now focused on collaborative efforts for sustainable economic growth.
The reconciliation was facilitated by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, who confirmed in a social media video that both leaders had met, reconciled, and expressed a mutual commitment to improving Kadin. Bakrie also indicated his willingness to collaborate with all stakeholders, including Rasjid, to enhance the organization moving forward.
