Bali Anticipates Economic Boost from HLF MSP Meetings

Bali — The 2024 High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP), scheduled for September 1-3, is set to deliver substantial economic benefits to Bali, according to local officials.

Economic Impact and Expectations

Bogat Widyatmoko, Deputy for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs at the National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas), highlighted the expected economic impact of the forum. “This event is poised to positively influence both the micro and macro levels of Bali’s economy,” Widyatmoko said on Sunday. He anticipates that the forum will boost local economic activity by increasing demand for accommodation, food and beverages, transportation services, and tourism attractions.

Participant Overview

The forum will host approximately 1,275 participants from 26 countries, including government officials, international organizations, NGOs, private sector representatives, academics, think tanks, multilateral banks, and philanthropies. Widyatmoko believes that the influx of these participants will drive growth in local businesses and services.

Strategic and Developmental Goals

The HLF MSP aligns with the 69th anniversary of the 1955 Asian-African Conference and serves as a key platform for Indonesia to showcase its advancements in the economy, social sectors, and environmental fields. The event supports the Golden Indonesia Vision and the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN).

The forum aims to promote multi-stakeholder partnerships that will enhance Indonesia’s economic resources and address global challenges. “HLF MSP provides a strategic platform for discussing transformative collaborations to tackle development gaps and other pressing global issues,” Widyatmoko explained.

Future Economic Collaborations

Widyatmoko also noted that the forum is expected to strengthen networks between domestic and international economic actors. This could pave the way for more intensive economic collaborations in the future, facilitating joint efforts to address global challenges and spur sustainable development.

In summary, Bali is gearing up to leverage the HLF MSP meetings to drive significant economic growth and enhance its role in global economic and developmental discussions.
