Civil servants’ 47 housing towers’ scheduled completion at IKN by Oct

The construction of 47 housing towers for civil servants in Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is progressing and is slated for completion by October 2024, according to State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas. These towers are designed to accommodate approximately 3,200 people, but will likely house around 1,700 residents due to a directive from President Joko Widodo, which stipulates that each married civil servant should have a separate accommodation.

Of the 47 towers, 12 are allocated for military and police personnel. The towers feature a total of 2,280 units, each with three bedrooms and measuring 98 square meters. The first two floors of each tower will be dedicated to public facilities, while the upper 10 floors will serve as residential spaces.

In addition to housing, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing plans to build a school nearby to support the educational needs of the civil servants’ children. This initiative aims to ensure that both domestic and professional needs of the relocated personnel are well accommodated.
