InJourney siap operasikan 37 bandara 24 jam dukung Natal – Tahun Baru

InJourney, a state-owned enterprise in Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors, is preparing to operate 37 airports 24 hours a day in support of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday season. This extended operational schedule will run from December 19, 2024, to January 5, 2025. The move is designed to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during the busy holiday period.

InJourney’s CEO, Maya Watono, shared that the peak of passenger departures is forecasted for December 20, 2024, and the return flow will peak on January 4, 2025. Passenger traffic is expected to rise by 4.52% compared to the previous year, with international traffic projected to increase by 23.2%, reaching 2.2 million passengers. Domestic traffic is expected to reach 6 million passengers.

However, aircraft movements during the same period are expected to decrease by 2.84% year-on-year, though international flights are anticipated to increase by 15.4%, totaling 12,965 movements in 2024.

Furthermore, the government has implemented measures to reduce ticket prices, in line with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto, particularly at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir emphasized the importance of planning ahead to avoid last-minute ticket purchases, which often contribute to higher prices. The government is also developing a five-year roadmap to address passenger surges during peak holiday seasons like Christmas, New Year, and Lebaran. The goal is to improve services and reduce ticket prices, ensuring a comfortable travel experience while boosting Indonesia’s economy and tourism sector.

InJourney, the state-owned enterprise in the aviation and tourism sector, is preparing to operate 37 airports 24 hours a day to support the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday season. According to InJourney’s CEO, Maya Watono, the airports will operate continuously for 18 days, starting from December 19, 2024, until January 5, 2025.

Maya also mentioned that the peak departure period is expected to occur on December 20, 2024, while the peak return period is anticipated to take place on January 4, 2025. During this period, the passenger traffic at InJourney’s airports is projected to increase by 4.52% compared to the previous year. International passenger traffic is expected to reach 2.2 million passengers, marking a 23.2% increase from the previous year’s 1.79 million passengers. Meanwhile, domestic traffic is projected to reach 6 million passengers in 2024.
