The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture has highlighted the Nusantara Cultural Harmony Festival (FHBN) as a crucial event in reinforcing Indonesia’s national character and values. Held from September 5-7 in North Penajam Paser District, East Kalimantan, the festival has been recognized for its role in fostering cultural and human resource development, particularly as it relates to the growth of Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara.
Deputy for Coordination of Mental Revolution, Cultural Advancement, and Sports Achievement, Warsito, emphasized the festival’s impact on revitalizing traditional Indonesian values such as work ethic, mutual cooperation, and integrity. “Let us revive the original values of Indonesia’s character through work ethic, mutual cooperation, and integrity,” he stated.
The festival, now held twice in North Penajam Paser, aims to underscore the significance of cultural and human resources in supporting the development of Nusantara. Warsito reported that a recent survey conducted during the FHBN’s closing ceremony revealed strong support for the event, with 82.8% of respondents showing high interest. Additionally, 81.5% of participants believed that the festival is vital for the new capital’s development, and 89.7% expressed a desire for the FHBN to become a regular occurrence.
Warsito also noted that the government is committed to ensuring that North Penajam Paser and surrounding buffer zones benefit from the new capital’s growth. The focus remains on preparing human resources to actively contribute to Nusantara’s development.
“The readiness of human resources to support Nusantara development so that they can participate and play an important role is being prioritized,” Warsito added.
The FHBN is seen as a long-term initiative to advance cultural development and integration in Nusantara, reflecting the government’s dedication to fostering a cohesive and culturally enriched environment in the new capital region.
