Gugus tugas Polri dinilai jadi terobosan dukung swasembada pangan

The formation of the Police Task Force to Support Food Security (Gugus Tugas Polri Mendukung Ketahanan Pangan) has been praised as an innovative step toward achieving food self-sufficiency in Indonesia. According to the Executive Director of the Indonesian Police Strategic Study Institute (Lemkapi), Edi Hasibuan, the initiative has been well received, especially among farmers and agricultural volunteers across the country. He emphasized that the enthusiasm from the community is high, and the involvement of the police, military, and local populations is expected to accelerate the realization of food security and self-sufficiency in Indonesia.

The task force has already made significant strides, with over 13,000 hectares of land dedicated to agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. Additionally, 7,471 locations across 34 regional police stations (Polda) have identified household plots ready for planting food crops.

This initiative has gained widespread support following the commitment from National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who launched the program by overseeing the first planting of corn in Bulang Village, Sidoarjo, East Java. The task force aims to coordinate efforts from local police in every region, including district levels, to implement food security programs.

Various regional police stations have already engaged in agricultural projects. For instance, the Metro Jaya Police in Bogor utilized 15 hectares of land, while the Banten Police collaborated with local communities to plant corn on 4.3 hectares in Lebak. In Southeast Sulawesi, the South Sulawesi Police have turned 18 hectares of unused land into vegetable farms. These initiatives reflect the growing momentum toward supporting food security across the country.
