The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has partnered with the State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Ministry to enhance efforts in combating corruption within government institutions. An official memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday, outlining several areas of collaboration aimed at preventing corruption and improving governance.
KPK Chairman Nawawi Pomolango highlighted the commitment of both institutions to tackle barriers to corruption eradication and address emerging corrupt practices. The MoU includes provisions for:
- Corruption prevention and monitoring
- State apparatus management
- Strengthening policies and regulations
- Bureaucratic reform
- Public education and involvement
- Information exchange
Pomolango emphasized the importance of developing an Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) to make public services more accountable, efficient, and accessible. He also stressed the necessity of protecting whistleblowers from intimidation to support corruption eradication efforts, in line with Law No. 30 of 2002.
PAN RB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas noted the critical link between corruption eradication and digital transformation, advocating for the SPBE to ensure transparency in bureaucratic processes. He cited successful examples from countries like Denmark and Finland, which have effectively utilized digital tools to combat corruption.
The signing of the MoU represents a significant step toward enhancing coordination and regularly evaluating progress in Indonesia’s fight against corruption.
